The Travellers Mate TV antenna is a horizontal antenna with a “country amplifier”. When it comes to the areas with vertical transmission, it can struggle to get the best reception without being orientated vertically. Usually, the amplifier inside the antenna will overcome the need to change its orientation in vertical-transmission areas such as Noosa, Qld, but sometimes the Travellers Mate TV Antenna works better in the vertical position.
 
To achieve this, a Knuckle can be added to the top of your pole and then the Travellers Mate attached to the knuckle. Loosening the wingnut on the side allows for the bending of the bracket.
